A week of faith, fun, service, and community
Catholic Schools Week at St. Ann School was a joyful celebration of who we are and what we value most — faith, learning, service, and community. Throughout the week, our students, staff, families, and parish came together for meaningful moments, joyful traditions, and opportunities to serve others, all rooted in our shared mission.
Our celebration began on Sunday with a Kickoff Mass that set a reverent and joyful tone for the week ahead. Many of our students played an active role in the liturgy, participating in Scripture and petition readings, bringing forward the gifts, and serving as altar servers. Their leadership and presence were a beautiful reflection of how faith is lived and celebrated at St. Ann — not just taught, but practiced together as a community.

Pancakes and bingo brought smiles all around, while students created Olympic torch crafts as part of our Olympics-themed week. Throughout the day, teachers highlighted the values behind the Olympic Games — teamwork, peace, unity, and respect — reinforcing lessons that reach far beyond the classroom.

Students created Valentine’s cards and packed bags of goodies for local seniors, learning firsthand the importance of caring for others. We were honored to welcome Mayor Tim Swadley, who spoke with students about the importance of service and the role it plays in strengthening the Stoughton community.
The afternoon brought one of the most anticipated events of the week — the school-wide Hungry Hippos game, a favorite tradition filled with laughter, teamwork, and school spirit. The day concluded with Souper Supper, a beloved community evening that brought together school families, parish members, and friends from across Stoughton. Parents showed incredible generosity by volunteering and bringing soups to share, creating a warm night of fellowship and connection.

Mike & Jamie McCloskey perform for an enthusiastic audience. Thursday was a special day of gratitude and celebration. During Mass, Peggy Kiss was announced as our Volunteer of the Year, recognizing her many years of dedicated service to St. Ann School. Peggy is a familiar and beloved presence in our school — regularly reading to students in the library, bringing smiles to faces wherever she goes, and serving as a shining example of kindness and generosity. She is deeply loved by our school community and parish, and this recognition was a meaningful moment for all.
Following Mass, families gathered for a cake reception before cheering on the annual Staff vs. 8th Grade Volleyball Game. The match ended in a tie, but the real win was the excitement and school spirit it brings each year, as students and staff alike enjoy friendly competition and shared laughter.
